Game #1: Osseo (64),
Barnstormers (61)
The season-opener for the 全tormers
got off to a slow start. The local Osseo
team had dozens of games under their
belt and used their experience to
jump out to an early lead. The
全tormers never gave up, fighting
through mistakes and a cold
shooting, to rally from double-digit
deficits on two occasions to make
this a game that came down the last
seconds of the contest. The
Barnstormers had a chance to tie it
at the buzzer, but point guard Kellen Sweeney's shot fell short and Osseo held on to edge the 全tormers
in their season opener by 3 points.
Isaac Gardner led the way with a
team-high 14 points. Other top
performers included Sweeney, who chipped in 10
points and 4 assists, Tyler Smith
added 8 points and 5 rebounds, and
Jon Keller tossed in 7 points along
with 4 rebounds.
Game #2:
Barnstormers (55), Armstrong (47)
The 全tormers came out much stronger
in their second game of the
tournament by establishing a quick
early led, one which they would
never relinquish. It didn稚 take
long to see that the team had
learned from the mistakes they made
in their season opener only an hour
earlier in the evening. Though the
全tormers controlled the lead the
entire game the team from Armstrong
never gave up and pushed the guys to
the final minutes. The final buzzer
sounded with the 全tormers earning
their first victory and they
advanced to the consolation
championship game on Sunday morning.
Shooting guard Tyler Putz led the
team with 14 points. Kellen Sweeney
and Will Roth both added 9 points to
aide in the victory. Center
Nick Wilson had a team-high 6
rebounds.
Game #3: Barnstormers (63),
Wayzata (44)
In the consolation finals, the
全tormers really began to show what
they are capable of playing like as
they easily out distanced the local
team from Wayzata. The team used a
swarming defensive effort and a well
balanced offensive attack, including
three three-pointers each from
forward Jon Keller and guard Josh
Oglesby, to take an
early lead and coast to victory.
Keller was lights-out
from downtown as he connected for a
team-high 13 points. Other top
performers were: Tyler Putz 12
points, Will
Roth 10 points and 6 boards, Josh Oglesby 9
points, and Nick
Wilson with 8
points and 10 rebounds. |
