February 17-18 13U AAU State 2-3, 3rd Place 8-6
     For their third tournament, the 13U 'Stormers returned to Ames, Iowa for the 13U AAU State Championship.  The 'Stormers opened up pool play facing a tough and familiar University Bulldogs team.  The Bulldogs took an early lead, but the 'Stormers took the lead by the second period and controlled th lead until the final minutes when the Bulldogs converted some key baskets to edge the 'Stormers by a 1pt margin.  Up next, the 'Stormers played a gifted Iowa Stars team very close up to the half. The thrid period saw the Stars pull away to easily win the game. The final game of pool play the 'Stormers finally got a win by routing the Dowling Muckdogs to finish pool play with a 1-2 record.  The opening game of the tournament saw the 'Stormers come out flat against a very hot shooting Bulldogs team.  The Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back as the went on to win the tournament. In the 3rd/4th place game the 'Stormers used a balanced attack to cruise to victory and take home the 3rd place trophy.  Center Nick Appleget was named to the 13U AAU All-Tournament team.
February 3-4, 2007 USSSA Midwest Bash 2-2 6-3

     The 13U 'Stormers travelled to Ames, Iowa, for their second tournament on February 3-4.  In pool play, the 'Stormers finished 2-1, with solid wins over the Omaha Renegades and Cedar Rapids Blue Devils and a close loss to the eventual champions, the All-Iowa Attack.  The 'Stormers were down 4 with 1:00 left against the Attack, but a very disciplined Attack group forced them to foul and hit their shots to win by 10.  In the first round of tournament play, the 'Stormers had a rematch with the Sports University Bulldogs, but fell short again, losing by 10 points.
Jan 20-21, 2007 Mid-Winter Jam, Cedar Rapids, IA 4-1, 2nd Place 4-1

     In the first tournament of their Barnstormers careers, the 13U 'Stormers played in the Mid-Winter Jam in Cedar Rapids.  After finishing 3-0 in pool competition, the 'Stormers played the Iowa City Regals in the first round of tournament play.  The 'Stormers fell behind 0-10 early after some hot shooting by the Regals, but tied the game with 1:00 left.  Center Nick Appleget forced a costly turnover with :20 seconds left, and the 'Stormers pulled out the win in the end.  In the finals, the 'Stormers played the Sports University Bulldogs from Ankeny. The Bulldogs came out hitting on all cylinders, hitting three 3's in the first few minutes to pull away quickly.  The 'Stormers fought back in the second half on strong play by guard Kade Olson and wing Jordan Hay, but they came up short in the end, losing 51-38.  The Barnstormers finished with a respectable 2nd Place finish in their first tournament.  After taking a week off, the 13U 'Stormers will play next in the USSSA Midwest Showdown in Ames on February 3-4.
