Reebok Summer Championships / Nike Main Event July 22-26, 2006 Las Vegas, Nevada Info: The Reebok Summer Championships (17U) and the Nike Main Event (16U) are NCAA-approved events, so college coaches from around the country will be in attendance to evaluate and scout players.  Games will be played on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Games will be played in gyms all around the Las Vegas area, not in one specific arena. Schedule: Tournament Schedule will be posted here as soon as it is received.  Schedules are usually posted 7-10 days prior to the tournament. Hotel Reservations:  Hotel rooms for Las Vegas will be provided for the 17U and 16U players at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino.  Parents and other family members who are planning to make the trip will need to make hotel reservations ON THEIR OWN.  The current rate for standard ("Tower") rooms at the Excalibur are $121 on Friday, $131 on Saturday, $61 on Sunday, and $71 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  To make your reservations online, click here. Airline Reservations: Airline reservations for all players and family members will be ON YOUR OWN.  Players will need to be in Las Vegas early Sunday morning (July 22), and should plan on leaving Las Vegas no earlier than Thursday afternoon (July 26).  The best rates for flights to Vegas are almost always from www.allegiantair.com.  Allegiant flies non-stop to Vegas out of Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Sioux Falls.  Other options include www.hotwire.com, www.priceline.com, and www.orbitz.com.  Try to book the flight early, because the rates usually go up as you get closer to the travel date.  If you have questions about booking your flight, or if you'll be booking a flight for a player without an accompanying adult, please contact Coach Stephen. Coach Stephen and Coach Johnson will fly out of Cedar Rapids on Friday, July 20 on Allegiant Airlines, arriving in Las Vegas at approximately 8:45pm.  They will fly back to Cedar Rapids on Thursday, July 26, leaving Vegas at 1:45pm.  There is only one flight from Cedar Rapids to Las Vegas and back each day, so if you book your flight for those days, you will be on the same plane. After finishing reservations for hotel and airlines, please forward your travel plans and itineraries to Coach Stephen, so we can keep track of when players will be arriving and departing. Vehicle Rental: The 17U and 16U players will have a team van rented for the entire time they are in Las Vegas.  For families that are traveling with the team, they will need to rent their own vehicles for use while in Las Vegas.  Vehicle rental can be made from the same website as a package deal with airline tickets at www.allegiantair.com.  If you don't reserve your car or fly with Allegiant, we recommend www.hotwire.com for airline and vehicle reservations.  Directions Addresses for the hotel and playing sites will be posted here after the tournament schedule is received.
