Coach
Johnson is the founder of Barnstormers Basketball and the
owner of Elite Sports, USA. Through Elite Sports,
Jamie organizes basketball events throughout Iowa and the
Midwest, including summer and fall individual "Showcases",
and team tournaments. Prior to Elite Sports, Jamie
assisted in the operation of events for the FutureStars
Basketball, while also working as a national talent scout
and recruiting analyst. Through his experience in
scouting, coach Johnson has developed relationships with
countless college coaches at a variety of playing levels. He
has also written for online publications like
Hoopmasters.com, and Rivals.com, among others. Jamie
is a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a degree in
Media. He lives in North Liberty with his two boys, Drayden and Logan. |

Barnstormers Basketball Co-Director
After spending the last two
years coaching college basketball at NCAA Division II Upper
Iowa University, Coach Stephen returned to the Barnstormers
in 2009. At
Upper Iowa, Greg was the top assistant coach, recruiting
coordinator, and strength/conditioning coordinator for the
Peacock Men's Basketball team. Before leaving the AAU
circuit to coach at Upper Iowa, Coach Stephen founded and
co-directed of the Barnstormers program from 2005-2007.
In addition to his coaching and orginizational duties with the Barnstormers program, Greg is also the director and coaches for the
current Iowa Mavericks AAU program. Coach Stephen is a
nationally certified strength and conditioning specialist,
and holds certifications in CPR, AED, and first aid.
He was the director of the Mercy Acceleration Sports
Performance program for Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids for
seven years. |

16U Barnstormers Coach
Coach Pettigrew joined the 'Stormers in 2008 after spending
3 years as the founder/director of the Iowa Triple Threat
Hoops AAU program. In three short years, Pettigrew
built Triple Threat into a viable program that competed at a
very high level on the national grassroots scene, helping
players get recruited at various college levels. The Triple
Threat and Barnstormers programs have always had very good
relationships, and Coach Pettigrew felt now was the right
time to merge with the Barnstormers organization. Jamie is
a graduate of the University of Iowa with a bachelors degree
in Sports Management. He is a proud father of five;
including two boys who are past (Alex Coleman,
2006-2009) and current (Jo Coleman, 2007-2009) members of
the Barnstormers. |

Michael Morgan

13U Lady Barnstormers Coach
Coach Morgan began coaching with
the Barnstormers program in 2007, following a seven year
coaching career at the University of Iowa. Michael is a
Hawkeye alum, playing at his alma mater from 1985-88. He
joined Lisa Bluder's staff as an Assistant Coach in 2000,
and was a part of 6 post season berths, four of which were
NCAA tournament appearances. In 2001, he was a part of the
program's Big Ten Championship season. During his
playing career at Iowa, he was a part of four NCAA
tournament appearances, was awarded the Most
Dedicated Player Award in 1986, and Most Improved Academic Award in
1988. Michael earned a Bachelors Degree in Communication,
and after graduating took a position at Urbandale High
School as an assistant coach. Michael is
happily married and a father of five. His son Jeremy
is a member of the 15U Barnstormers team, and daughter
Mikaela is a member of the 13U Lady 'Stormers. Michael's
oldest daughter, Crystal Smith, was an All-American and the
University of Iowa while he was an assistant coach there.
Crystal currently plays in the WNBA for the Washington
Mystics, and during the WNBA's off-season, she plays
professionally in Greece. |
